Justyna Isobel Matejek
Body-Mind Counselling, Colchester, Essex

For over 15 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside people in a variety of settings—supporting individuals and groups through times of challenge, change, and growth. I am a BACP Accredited counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Counselling Tutor, and Group Facilitator.

I specialise in:

  • Healing from sexual abuse/child sexual abuse

  • Post Traumatic Stress/ Complex Post Traumatic Stress

  • Anxiety

  • Relational Trauma/ Healing from Narcissistic Abuse

  • Childhood Trauma- Disembodied Self, Disintegrated sense of self.

  • Shame/ Toxic Shame

  • Loss of meaning in life, a lost sense of belonging.

  • Loss of identity

  • Exile trauma/ displacement trauma

My trainings are rooted in the philosophy of person-centred psychotherapy and somatic methods. This allows me to support healing not only through talking but also by gently attending to the body and its wisdom.

My approach closely resonates with those of Gabor Mate, Peter Levine, Bessel van der Kolk, Babette Rothschild, and Christiane Sanderson, all of whom emphasise compassionate inquiry. I draw influences from Eastern philosophies, primarily Taoism and Buddhism, as well as energetic healing practices and the therapeutic use of sound.

I offer Person-CentredBody Mind Integrative Therapy: a way of working that honours the deep connection between body and mind in psychological health.

I work purely with the Person-Centred Approach, or integratively, depending on the client`s needs.

My focus is on creating a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I support clients in learning how to:

  •  Regulate emotions

  •  Process trauma safely

  •  Move towards balance and wholeness

At the heart of my practice is the belief that healing is possible, and that growth can happen in ways that feel grounded, gentle, and deeply human.
